Bwaaiin!!!

it’s THE feeling!

The brain behind “Bwaaiin!!!”

After more than a year and nearly 20,000 hits later, now I can explain why I have decided to set up not just one but two blogs.

This one here is dedicated to my passions in music, film, TV and gaming.

Admittedly, I am an avid music lover – which is to say must be a way to compensate for my lack of skill in playing any musical instrument (although I am fascinated with learning how to play the bongos).  I do listen to all kinds, but I do tend to draw some lines – I can’t stand opera (even if I had a great- uncle who was the very first Filipino to perform at the La Scala opera house in Italy), Disney Channel-endorsed “tween” acts annoy me to no end (even if I sometimes do watch Disney films and TV shows) and “trance” music puts me to sleep (I love club music – but it must have beatsBeats.  Plus points if it has soulful voices on top of it)

Movies – I love a lot of ‘em.  Just can’t stand horror, though.  I’m also staying away from excessive gratuitous gore – the kind which has been turning up in Japanese genre flicks.  I’m more of the big-explosions, snazzy-effects and eye- candy-up-the-roof kind of guy, but when the mood strikes me, I can get into films that are unconventional yet provocative in driving their message across.

TV – I love it (even when many say that it turns your head into shit!!!)  I do follow shows like CSI (even with Det. Grissom now gone from Vegas – but I can’t stand CSI: Miami) and Fringe as well as talk shows like Letterman and Kimmel.   I also avidly watch Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl.   I once followed the likes of Prison Break, Lost and Grey’s Anatomy
…however, my enthusiasm for these shows has somewhat waned.   However, you can never expect me to follow Oprah or American Idol.  Likewise, all these “reality” shows featuring “has-been” celebrities leave me cold.

As for gaming, I have been a proud PSP owner for almost two years already, and I am looking forward to getting a PS3 within this year – if my finances would permit me.  Titles that I keep coming back on that console from time to time include Tekken: Dark Resurrection (I am looking forward to Tekken 6’s bow later this year) and Monster Hunter Freedom 2/2G (Unite).

There you go…for those who can understand Filipino or Tagalog, you can also know more stuff about me here.  That other blog is representative of my inner self – the highs and lows of living in a Third World country still struggling with its self-identity as well as how I am coping with it.

For those who have followed a number of my regular posts over at my previous blog, I have already ported most of the articles over here with some (relevant)  revisions.

Anyway, I just hope that you are all having fun here…
